Social media is a great way to interact with others,
especially if you are not going to see them very often. It provides bits of
information from other people’s lives – the ones they choose to share of course.
It is kind of a curtain that filters certain views and perspectives from real
situations, which draws people’s attention and very commonly allows people to
get addicted to them. If you are among the unlucky crowd who cannot spend an
hour without peeking into the social media world, you might find the following 2 points quite interesting.
1. Don’t expose yourself
Social media is a hub for information sharing and it has
become quite challenging to maintain privacy. Constantly sharing photos and
updates allow others to know what’s happening in your life in both good and the
bad ways. It becomes easier for stalkers (or even serial killers – who knows)
to define your background. Share wisely and don’t let those kinds of people be
ahead of you.
2. Get a life
As I said before, social media is a base station for
information about what’s going on in other people’s lives. Some people brag
about how awesome their lives are and the weaker community is supposed to believe
every bit of fact no matter how absurd they are. No one can resist the small
tinges of jealousy and envy and the continuous exposure to such emotions will
degrade a person’s mental health. Everybody in the world has a beautiful life –
beauty defined in many different ways. Explore your own life without worrying
about others.
